About the trip...

Dear friends and family,

Thank you for your interest in my upcoming medical missions trip to Guatemala! I have been blessed to be able to travel there this summer and am extremely excited to see how God will work. I'll be staying with Dr. "Tito" Palacios and his wife Brenda and kids from July 9th until August 31st. Dr. Tito works with an organization called La Mision (http://www.lamision.org.gt/), which is connected with a larger organization called Reach Beyond Borders. During my time there, I will be involved with helping Dr. Tito organize and set-up clinics in various towns and villages in Guatemala. Throughout the summer Dr. Tito is in charge of hosting multiple short-term missions teams from the United States. My job will be to help him coordinate and prepare for these groups, while assisting him in the clinics.

I will be graduating nursing school in May from Washington State University/Whitworth University and hope that I may use the skills and knowledge I have learned to help in the clinics. I am excited about this great opportunity to be able to help tend to the physical needs of the people I meet as well as the spiritual. My hope is that Jesus Christ will be glorified in this trip and that I may have the great priviledge to share what I have found in Him with others. It is only through Him that I am able to travel to this beautiful country and am excited to learn what He has to teach me.

While I am in Guatemala, I will try and post day-to-day updates on this blog about what is happening and how you can specifically pray for our work there. I appreciate all of your prayers and support. Feel free to comment on this blog or email me with any questions you may have.
